Only in Salina . . .

I saw the wierdest thing today. Kyle was home from work after lunch and we were chatting. I looked out the window and saw a giant bull run across my front lawn. Sometimes I see strange animals on my street but this was the first bull. Then I saw a cowboy with a lasso and a cowboy with a gun chasing after the cow. Then I saw a cowboy in a truck zoom by. I was so glad my kids were all inside at the time because usually they are scattered around the yard. Later I found out that he escaped from the auction. I heard he trampled some flowerbeds and stuff. Poor cow just didn't want to be at the auction. I don't blame him.

No more tonsils!

Keaton got his tonsils and adenoids taken out a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember him ever having an ear infection or being sick much at all, but after some investigation we found that his very enlarged tonsils and adenoids have been affecting his sleep. He coughs and chokes in the night and never reaches deep sleep. His x-rays showed blocked airways.

He was such a trooper. He handled it all so well. For a few days, he acted like nothing was wrong but it finally hit him. He was miserable and sore for at least a week.
On Thursday, he woke up and told me he was all healed. He suggested that I throw him a 'congratulations Keaton' party. He wanted to invite his friends and family. He wanted to serve chips since he can eat them now. He is so funny!

Fun in the Sun

The boys, big and little, have been having fun shooting each other with paintball guns. They go out onto Brady's property and have a blast.

Anders has the big pinewood derby this week, so dad has been helping him put the finishing touches on his car.

Even though the girls are eight years apart, they have so much fun together! I painted the girls finger and toe nails and then Kaydee put some sparkles on her little sis.

We had to snap a picture on the way out the door for church. The kids looked so nice and clean.

Easter

The kids were at such fun ages this year for coloring eggs. They enjoyed every bit of it. I tried to relax a little and just let them have fun. Alyssa kept plopping the eggs in and out of the colors. Every time we turned our heads, she tasted the water. I don't know why she tried that more than once.

Keaton also had a great time. H'e kept making up 'recipes'.

The kids were so excited on Easter morning. Alyssa kept saying "I go church?, I go big girl class?" over and over. Kaydee and Alyssa got matching dresses and Keaton and Anders got coordinating ties and pants. I can't wait to dress them up and get some good pictures.

Springtime fun!

We decided it was time to teach Keaton to ride without training wheels. Kyle took them off and I got behind him ready to run and he took off without me! He rode down the sidewalk, up the neighbors driveway, down the driveway, across the street . . . Well, I think he had been ready for a while. He didn't need any help at all. He kept saying 'can you believe it took me zero days to learn?' Good job, buddy. He has more fun now being able to keep up with Kaydee and Anders.

I took the kids down to IFA to see the chicks and ducks about a month ago and they loved them. They were tiny. On Saturday Alyssa and I went down again and the ducks grew up! They were so cute. Kyle said no. :)

She kept saying they were cute but when I asked her if she wanted one she said "stinky".

I'm having some serious stress because all of my best pictures seem to be unrecoverable off my camera. So I guess this post will be non-illustrated. Life has been hectic lately. We spent last weekend traveling for a family wedding. It was a great time though. Kaydee and Anders started school here the last week of January and they are doing awesome. I admire their ability to adapt to change so fast. They have lots of friends and are already involved in many activities. Keaton and Alyssa LOVE having them around all the time. Keaton is doing well in preschool and has a new buddy down the street. I love being a mom!
Kyle and I were able to leave the kids for a few hours and get some much needed couple time. We went to dinner and a movie for Valentines Day. I always love date night!

My little make-up artist

Kaydee and I were watching TV and Alyssa walked in and stood by us. She just said "hi". We looked over at her and were shocked by what we saw. She had been in my mascara. She made cute little lashes and everything. I looked in the bathroom and she had cleaned up everything as if I wouldn't notice. It was hilarious. She said "I pretty".
